Hasenöhrl Recovering Well from Accident (February, 2007)

Carina Hasenöhrl is recovering well from her bad training accident in the Netherlands which Backflip reported on in November (click on the 2006 News Archive for the full story). Carina landed a double front on the floor on her head with full force. The MRI-diagnosis revealed that the 4th cervical vertebra was broken and the 3rd vertebrae was dislocated but luckily there were no signs of paralysis.

Carina told Backflip this week, ‘I'm just about to leave my hometown Klagenfurt again and move back to Holland. I've done lots of physiotherapy the last month and a half and now look forward to starting "real gymnastics" again. I got rid off my cast on Jan 26th. Then I started doing some conditioning and unfortunately had some troubles last week with my neck. I was forced to rest for approximately 10 days. Before that forced rest, I had been in the gym a few times, trying out what my body could handle. I just did some basic elements. Now I'll go back to the Netherlands, restart training and finish school in May.’

Backflip featured Carina Hasenöhrl in an article called ‘Deva Delights’ in issue 2. To order this back issue click here.
