Interview with Beth Tweddle (22nd December 2006)

Backflip talked to Beth Tweddle who arrived back from her World Cup win in Brazil on Tuesday. That night, Beth and Amanda also met with the Queen and today Beth jets off again, this time to Holland for an exhibition.

Speaking about her experience of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards and performing her bars set in a tuxedo style leotard, Beth said, ‘The Sports personality was a fantastic evening. It was Amanda’s idea to do the leotard and Milano made it up for me, by all accounts I think they had quite good fun making it. I was quite nervous performing on the evening as the atmosphere was so different to when I would normally do it. The lighting and the people around me was quite different but I am glad that I did it.’

‘After the show there was an after party which was good because I got to catch up with people I hadn’t seen for a while including some of the athletes that were out at the Commonwealth Games so it was nice to see what they have been up to etc. I received so many congratulations from people. It was nice to talk to Zara Phillips afterwards. She was so nice,’ said Beth.
