Injury Retirement for Munteanu (16th June, 2006)

Gazeta Sporturilor reports that Andreea Munteanu has decided to retire due to a period of long inactivity caused by injury. Munteanu will be 18 in September and according to coach Nicolae Forminte he's in a difficult situation now as he's only got five senior gymnasts to choose from for the World Championships in October.

Andreea told Prosport, 'I have health problems and I don't want to aggravate it. I will finish high school after which I will go to the faculty of Sport. My only regret is that because of my medical problems, I didn't succeed in going to the Olympics.’
