Just Bars for Beth (20th April, 2006)

Backflip has just heard from Beth Tweddle about her appearance at the European Championships in Volos next week. Beths says, ‘My foot has not recovered as quickly as I had hoped so I will only be competing on bars at the Europeans. I got the go ahead to go there yesterday (19th April).To be honest I dont really know what the chances are as I have not yet competed on the new Code.’

Beth picked up the foot injury during podium training on vault at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, last month. Speaking to Backflip about how she felt during the Games with her ankle strapped up, Beth says, ‘To be honest I have put it behind me. I did find it very hard at the time especially watching the competition but I was glad I could support my team mates. I am now looking forward to the rest of the year.’
