Ivankov
To Unveil New Routine (16th November, 2005)
Belarussian
gymnastics veteran Ivan Ivankov is careful when discussing
his chances of medalling at the upcoming Worlds.
‘I
don’t like to talk too much about my chances. All I
know is that I have a new routine.’ said Ivankov, who
began gymnastics in 1980 in Minsk. The 30 year old will be
participating in his first big event since the Olympics.
While
the new generation of gymnasts are younger, Ivankov at least
has experience on his side, having competed on the international
circuit for over 12 years with the National team.
‘Everything
is going good,’ said Ivankov, who has been troubled
by serious injuries throughout his career. ‘I am looking
forward to trying the new routine and the tricks involved.
I am in good shape.’
