French Confident of Medal Wins (16th November, 2005)

Both the men’s and women’s French teams are determined to be amongst the world’s best. The French Head of Delegation, Michel Boutard said the French team was serious about this World Championships after impressive results in the European Championships in June.

The women’s team is led by European Women’s Individual all around champion Marine Debauve. Her team mates will be Olympic and European bars champion, Emilie Le Pennec and European floor champion Isabelle Severino.

‘We have brought the best gymnasts. We will have our athletes in their best event and apparatus.’ said Boutard.

In the men’s competition, Yann Cucherat will lead the men competing in the parallel bars and horizontal bar.

‘It’s a long way to come down to Australia. Our athletes will be in their best event to make the finals and win medals,’ said Boutard.
