Stars Set for Glasgow Grand Prix

Olympic, World and European champions will compete for medals, prize-money and World Ranking points in all the gymnastics events at the Glasgow Grand Prix (25 & 26 Oct).The competing countries are using the event as a vital platform for World Championships preparation.

In the Men’s start list, a world master will perform in every event.

Floor
Igor Vihrovs (LAT) 2000 Olympic Champion on floor,
Robert Gal (HUN) World Cup Final 2004, European 2005 bronze medallist
Jeffrey Wammes (NED) America Cup Gold medallist on Floor, 2005 European bronze medallist on vault.

Pommel Horse
Marius Urzica (ROM) 2000 Olympic, World and European Champion.
Krisztian Berki (HUN) 2005 European Champion

Rings
Yuri Van Gelder (NED) 2004 World Cup Final winner on rings, 2005 European Champion
Alexander Safoshkin (RUS) 2004 World Cup Final bronze. 2003 European Champion

Vault
Leszek Blanik (POL) 2000 Olympic silver medallists
Robert Gal (HUN) Sao Paolo World Cup event gold, World Cup Final 2004 and European Championships 2005 bronze medallist

The Women’s Start list includes 2004 European all around champion Alina Kozich (UKR), Verona Van de Leur (NED), European medallist on floor, Monette Russo, the new Australian Champion and Oksana Chussovitina (UZB), 1992 Olympic and 2003 World Champion on vault, who will be 30 years old this year. Beth Tweddle (GBR), World, World Cup, European and Commonwealth Games medallist will be striving for medals on bars and floor.
